Liverpool reject reports that John W. Henry wants to sell club

Liverpool have denied claims that principal owner John W. Henry is quietly looking to sell the Premier League club.

The New York Post reported on Thursday that Henry, who also owns the MLB franchise the Boston Red Sox, had signalled he was running a low-key sales process to sell Liverpool.

However, Liverpool continue to dismiss suggestions that Fenway Sports Group have put the club on the market.

“As loathed as we are to give a story of this nature a meaningful response on behalf of the club’s ownership I can completely dismiss this unfounded speculation,” a Liverpool spokesperson said.

“To repeat once again, the club is not for sale, including any ‘quiet process’ or anything of that nature.”
