Renault takes covers off its 2019 car
Renault has taken the covers off the car it will contend the 2019 season with.
The car will be piloted by new signing Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg, who remains at the French manufacturer for a third season. Renault finished fourth in 2018 — a spot which has become known as ‘best of the rest’, given the performance gap between the front three and the midfield — and is looking to cut the deficit to Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull this year.
Renault hopes the R.S.19 is the car to do that. The team hosted a launch event at its Enstone base on Tuesday, although the car on show featured only a 2019 livery and new front wing – this year’s regulations feature slight tweaks to certain parts of the car. Like most of the teams, Renault will be looking to utilise the remainder of this week for development before pre-season testing begins in Barcelona.
1977 to 2019. Every line. Every curve. Using the most advanced technology available, and improving year on year. Breaking new grounds. All leading to today.
